Geothermal HVAC*

For residential there is a 30% tax credit from the federal government and a 35% tax credit up to $2000 from the state of GA. Commercial building qualify for a 30% federal grant plus a 35% state grant.  The difference can be depreciated depending as well.

35% of the total up to $2,500.00 per dwelling unit applies for clean energy property related to solar energy equipment for domestic water heating.  We have also got confirmation that our solar pool heaters qualify as well.

Federal

Tax credits are available for qualified solar water heating systems. The credits are available for systems “placed in service” from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2008. The tax credit is for 30% of the cost of the system, with no cap!

Summary: The combination of the federal and state credits add up to $4500.  The typcial system starts around 8000 +/- depending on how far the panels are from the tank.  With the credit the system is around $3500 or around $3000 with the Jackson EMC rebate.  The payback according to the DOE is less that 7 years in most cases.  The Hoots Group is authorized to install the systems approves by the state and Jackson EMC.
